Welcome to the holiday edition of the Planning Analytics with Watson newsletter. 2021 will be year that we long remember, given the pandemic and all of the ensuing changes to our personal and work lives.  Our community has thrived and grown and we look forward to connecting with you in 2022.

Urgent Security Bulletin
IBM Planning Analytics Workspace: Apache log4j Vulnerability (CVE-2021-44228). This issue is categorized as Critical Severity. This bulletin addresses the exposure to this vulnerability. For remediation and additional vulnerability details refer to this link for both cloud and on premises.  Stay abreast of the latest updates here.  You can also raise a support ticket here if you need assistance. 

What's new in Planning Analytics Workspace. Find out what's new or changed in the most recent release of IBM Planning Analytics Workspace. The new features described here always reflect the full capabilities of Planning Analytics Workspace on cloud. 

IBM Planning Analytics Workspace Release 71 is available on cloud and on premises.

IBM Planning Analytics Cartridge for IBM Cloud Pak for Data 4.0.3 and IBM Planning Analytics Modernization 4.0.3 license details are available from the IBM Registry.

Events

Demo and Discussion: Pinning, also known as "Favoriting", in Planning Analytics. Currently there is a lack of clarity on how pinning is being utilized in Planning Analytics since the introduction of copy and paste. In this session users will be asked to create a book / dashboard from a pre-existing set of data. If you are interested in participating, email xavier.uwood@ibm.com.

Tech Corner

IBM Planning Analytics 2.0.9.5 includes a change to hierarchy security in the TM1 Server. In previous versions of Planning Analytics the hierarchies in a dimension could not be secured independent of the dimension that contains the hierarchy. Read the technote here.

Tech Tip: A selector is a widget that lets you pick members, sets, or levels for a view, either exploration or visualization. Selector lists are useful when you want to synchronize multiple widgets in a book. Get the details here.
