Much has been written in the media recently about chip shortages which are impacting industry worldwide. The electronic design automation (EDA) industry is highly competitive, with companies locked in a race to deliver innovative products to market faster. Combined with the increasing complexity of semiconductors, organizations need more computing capacity than ever before to boost key stages of semiconductor design including validation. Increasingly, organizations are turning to cloud to provide this extra needed computing power on demand.  IBM Spectrum LSF, with dynamic HPC cloud capabilities is ideally suited to managing such environments. It supports all of the major cloud providers including IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform and more.

A recent AWS blog titled EDA Scale with Fox for NetApp ONTAP and IBM LSF discusses scaling EDA workloads to AWS from on-prem environments using IBM Spectrum LSF and NetApp. LSF is used to dynamically burst EDA workloads to AWS and Amazon Fox for NetApp ONTAP is used for seamless, efficient data management.

Enjoy!
