Hi Everyone,

A new release of Cognos Analytics, Release 11.0.12 (R12) is now available. This is a small release where we have addressed some of your Request For Enhancements (RFE).

Here are the details of some of the key capabilities:

Dashboard enhancements

Reset Dashboard
With the interactive nature of dashboards users can easily apply filters and utilize navigation groups to dig deeper into underlying data.

Once you get an answer to your question or realize you have gone down the wrong path it is often difficult to remember how to get back to where you started your investigation.

It is to this end that we have introduced the ability to reset your dashboard. This option can be found in the application bar under the … menu.

When selecting this option, you will be returned to the dashboard at the state it was last saved. This means that if you have authored any filters into the dashboard they will not be lost when you reset the dashboard.
It does also mean that if you save your work part way through, that will become the new reset dashboard point.

Multi-Lingual support in Dashboards
Many organizations have users who operate in their native language. Cognos Analytics reports have long supported the ability to author a report once and provide translations for user generated content. The appropriate translations are then leveraged based on the content locale of the user accessing the report.

We have now brought this capability to the Dashboard experience. You can now assign a default language which will be shown should the dashboard not be translated into the content locale for a given user.

When adding additional languages, you will be placed into a translation mode, shown by a green border around the dashboard canvas. At the top of the canvas you will see a note stating the language you are translating as well as the number of items left requiring translation.

Multilingual Support
Once you have translated everything into the language you click done in the top right hand corner and you will be returned to your dashboard in the language of your content locale.

In order to help with translations, users can download all the strings by clicking on the … next to the default language. This will create a CSV file that can be populated by a translation team and then can be copy and pasted into the dashboard.

Control visibility of Reports - changes to Permissions
With the release of R12, users no longer are required to have Read access to the report specification in order to run in the interactive viewer.
