Go debugger eclipse support is announced!

By Yuan Jie Song posted Fri November 12, 2021 07:07 AM

IBM z/OS Debugger 15.0.3 now supports IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Go 1.16 as part of its roadmap to support compiled languages on Z . Developers can now debug Go applications in Eclipse to underpin the ecosystem for containerization of IBM Z. See the IDz and DBB announcement letter for more details.

Why Go debugger support?
To deliver the best value to customers, IBM continues its effort to ease the development of Go applications on z/OS platform by enhancing the product features and capabilities. With Go debugger support, the Go developers are now able to leverage the core debug functionality with eclipse, rather than use rudimentary methods to debug Go applications on z/OS.

How to debug a Go application with z/OS debugger?
For more information, see the blog on Debugging a Go program with z/OS Debugger and topic on Debugging programs compiled with IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Go. With just simple setup and configurations, you can get your debug session up and running in a few moments.

Happy debugging!
