AIOps on IBM Z is a group that brings together IT professionals to share their knowledge and expertise on leveraging AI-driven intelligence and IT Operations in order to accelerate decisions to maintain resiliency through the use of AIOps on IBM Z
Z System Automation V4.2 introduced the concept of dynamic resources, which enables dynamic provisioning and de-provisioning of applications, such as CICS regions or IMS message processing regions. This concept gives you the possibility to apply enterprise policies to the content of a template via the existing change control mechanisms, while giving additional speed and flexibility to create resources at runtime based on template definition. For the ’System Automation Data Store’, which is a prerequisite for dynamic resources, an internal Apache Derby database was initially used after validation with customers.
Based on a customer requirement a new option was implemented in Z System Automation in the last months. This means that there is now also the option of using a central IBM Db2® for z/OS® database to hold the dynamic resource instances and act as an alternative to the implementation where the ’System Automation Data Store’ uses an internal Derby database.
This is only a backend enhancement, without any changes to the INGDYN command.More information can be found here in the IBM Z System Automation Documentation https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/z-system-automation/4.3.0?topic=v43-continuous-enhancements-post-ga-service-level#postGA__OA63123
