November 18: Join our next SAP on IBM i webcast "A new paradigm for SIDADM - not just for IBM i"

By Wera Stoeckel posted 2 days ago

This webcast introduces a new approach to <sid>ADM that aligns with today's requirements for user access and security - not only for IBM i 7.6, but for all supported IBM i releases. Join us and explore what is possible!

<sid>ADM is the main user profile on IBM i to administer an SAP system at the operating system level.  Sharing the password of <sid>ADM among multiple system administrators is sometimes done at customer sites but is not desired. Also, if you are running IBM i 7.6 and want to benefit from the enhanced security of multi-factor authentication (MFA) for <sid>ADM, limitations in remote file systems make it difficult.

In this webcast, Christian Bartels from IBM will present a new SAP tool to allow SAP system administrators to sign on with their own user profiles - optionally in IBM i 7.6 with MFA - and then easily switch to <sid>ADM to perform administration tasks on their SAP systems.

As usual, some Q&A time is reserved at the end of the webcast for questions about IBM i 7.6 or whatever else you may have in mind.

The webcast is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, 2025, at 4 pm CET, 10 am EST, 8:30 pm IST.
