Meet Michal Wiktorek, an Expert System Administrator at Santander Bank Polska, and newly named IBM Champion in 2025. For Michal, technology is not just a career, but also a passion that drives him to continue learning, growing, and sharing with others. Among all IBM technologies, his favorite is IBM Power, thanks to its high performance, unmatched stability, and the advantages it brings with PowerVM virtualization. These qualities are central to his work, and they also reflect his own values, as he builds strong, reliable systems and communities that people can count on.
When it comes to advocacy, Michal finds his voice through blogging, where he explains technical concepts and shares his experiences in ways that help others. He is also becoming more comfortable with public speaking, including presenting at the COMMON Poland conference, where he shared insights on new AIX system features and connected with like-minded professionals. For him, the most rewarding part of being an IBM Champion is the opportunity to exchange knowledge with people who see technology as both a tool and a passion. Looking back, Michal feels that some of the biggest successes in IT are the ones no one outside the team ever sees, like ensuring clients never experience a service interruption after a long night of problem-solving. Those “quiet wins” are what keep him motivated. Outside of technology, his dream job would be designing Lego Technic models, a perfect fit for someone who loves building and creating.
