IBM Champion Diego Kesselman
Diego Esteban Kesselman has been an IBM Champion since 2022—initially recognized for his work with IBM Power, and now also honored in the IBM Cloud category. His deep connection to IBM technology began in 1998 in Argentina, where he started his career as a programmer working with AS/400 systems. His journey later brought him to Mexico, where he gained valuable hands-on experience with clients and went on to found his own IBM Business Partner company, ESSELWARE Soluciones.
Diego is especially passionate about IBM Power Virtual Server, a subject he knows intimately as co-author of both the first and second editions of the IBM Power Systems Virtual Server Guide for IBM i. For him, working with IBM Power in the cloud feels like a natural—and inspiring—continuation of a journey that started decades ago.
An active voice in the IBM community, Diego regularly shares insights on Power and PowerVS through his LinkedIn posts, typically publishing one or two times a week. Interestingly, he began writing in Spanish, but as his audience expanded globally, he made the shift to English to better connect with the broader community. You can find his latest updates on his [LinkedIn profile].
Beyond LinkedIn, Diego also manages several large Spanish-speaking IBM groups on Telegram, focusing on topics like IBM i, technical training, and cloud services. What truly sets him apart is his commitment to consistency and community engagement. He actively answers questions, sparks thoughtful discussions, and celebrates the contributions of his peers. For Diego, it’s all about building inclusive spaces where people can learn, connect, and grow together.
One of Diego’s proudest moments was contributing to the IBM Redbook guide—an experience he describes as challenging but incredibly rewarding. Being named an IBM Champion felt like a meaningful recognition of all the work he had been doing driven by passion and commitment.
If he weren’t in tech, Diego says he’d probably be a musician or a cook—two other ways he enjoys creating and sharing with others.
His advice for anyone considering becoming an IBM Champion? “It’s not just about studying or selling. It’s about helping, sharing, and being the kind of person others can count on. That’s the real reward.”
