In IBM Cognos Analytics 11.1.7 we decided it was time to bring a snazzy new set of colours to the Cognos UI.  In this release, we have included a new colour theme called "IBM Carbon X".  This new theme, with its slick combination of dark grey and vibrant blue, is based on IBM's Carbon Design System.  Carbon X is IBM’s open source design system for digital products and experiences

This Carbon theme will be the default theme for all new installations of Cognos.  For existing installations, we have the "IBM Classic theme" that wll be your default selection.  You can switch between themes just by going into Manage > Customization > Themes.  Or you can assign different themes to different roles.  And of course, you can continue to use your existing themes that you've built yourself, which will be based on the IBM Classic theme, for backwards compatability.
