There’s a great developer community event coming: Index!
It will be a three-day conference at San Francisco focused on the open developer community and has the objective to bring us the latest software development practices and techniques through the point of view of many big tech companies like IBM, Google, Amazon and Facebook. Moreover, I will not only attend this awesome event, but also be one of the speakers! I feel honored, and have no doubt that this will be an amazing experience - not only professional but also personal.
My session title is “Are we ready to Cognitive DevOps?” and the main objective is to bring to the light some of the challenges we have when keeping our team’s software delivery fast and with high quality considering a scenario were delivering cognitive capabilities is a frequent task.
We spent the last decades improving our development processes and now they need to adapt to deliver a complete new set of technologies from the artificial intelligence world. What we already know that will not work? What can we keep? What can we introduce to improve the processes? All those questions are provocative and it’s not my intent to present answers or gold rules. However, I will contribute by bringing what we already are doing here on Brazil at Hop!
I already wrote a blog post about some of my thoughts on this matter and was from that post that came the idea to submit my session to Index (that is the importance to have a blog on the community!). However, it was only an initial discussion, and we have a lot more to share about our development process at Hop. Our objective is to, someday, achieve a fully “cognitive devops” process.
Besides my presentation, there will be many other interesting sessions, workshops and panels happening there! Index will offer 100 sessions spread over 8 tracks with speakers from many companies like Uber, Google, Slack and, why not, Hop! LOL - Just kidding for now, but one day we’ll get there!
So, if you are on San Francisco on February 20-22, you already know what to do! I really hope to meet some of you there, it will be a pleasure to share some experiences! As soon as the event agenda become fully available, I’ll write a post about what sessions and workshops I’m planning on attending and certainly, after the event, I’ll share some of the best moments with you!
