At NVIDIA GTC 2025, IBM announced that it is an NVIDIA-Certified Storage partner.

NVIDIA-Certified Storage addresses the massive data demands of AI factories by offering a new enterprise storage certification. It rigorously tests storage systems to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance, quality, and reliability. This certification is a prerequisite for partners developing solutions based on the newly announced NVIDIA AI Data Platform. The new program complements NVIDIA-Certified Systems and NVIDIA Enterprise Reference Architectures, enabling partners and enterprise customers to efficiently deploy and scale AI infrastructure. By integrating certified storage solutions with NVIDIA accelerated computing, networking, and software technologies, organizations can confidently build AI factories that leverage data for faster, more accurate, and reliable AI models, unlocking new possibilities and driving innovation across industries.

The IBM Storage Scale System 6000 is a storage platform designed to be the simplest and fastest way for organizations to build a global data platform around their file and object data. It leverages the power of Storage Scale software combined with NVMe flash, hybrid flash/disk technology, and NVIDIA networking to deliver high-performance storage for accelerated AI, data analytics, data engineering, HPC, classical ML/DL, Gen AI training, fine tuning, and inference, and Agentic AI with complex reasoning workloads.

Storage Scale System 6000 is available in all-flash and hybrid configurations providing:

– Up to 310 gigabytes per second (GB/s) throughput with low latency.

– Up to 13 million IOPS using NVMe-oF;

– Up to 1.8PBe (effective capacity) in a standard 4U rack space.

Storage Scale software is designed to enable the Storage Scale System 6000 to scale linearly, so that throughput increases proportionally with capacity as more systems are added to a cluster. For sequential data and workloads requiring access to massive data sets, Storage Scale System supports up to nine SAS hard disk drive expansion enclosures, providing a more cost-effective alternative to flash storage.

As an NVIDIA validated storage option for NVIDIA DGX BasePOD, NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD, NVIDIA Cloud Partner Reference Architectures with NVIDIA HGX systems, and now NVIDIA-Certified Storage for enterprise deployments, Storage Scale System allows customers to unlock the full potential of their AI infrastructure.
