IBM released the Storage Ceph-as-a-service offering on 7th March 2025 and is now available as an IBM Cloud catalog tile. It offers a fully IBM managed multi-protocol software-defined storage solution delivered on-premises while providing cloud-like self service experience with the convenience of pay-as-you-go model. 

IBM Storage Ceph-as-a-service offers two flavours of storage tiers-

1. Performance Tier - which is based on NVMe storage devices for high throughput and performance. This flavour supports unified protocols of block storage based on NVMe and high performance object storage based on S3.
2. Capacity Tier - which is a cost-effective online object storage for less frequently used data.
