Introducing the latest update to IBM Storage Defender: release 2.0.15

IBM Storage Defender, a cutting-edge solution for data protection and resiliency, has announced the release of its latest updates, with release 2.0.15. This new release builds upon the existing capabilities and introduces exciting new features.

Data Resiliency Service updates:

Enhanced connectivity with web proxy support

A notable update is the support for web proxy to connect the IBM Storage Defender connection manager with the IBM Storage Defender Data Resiliency Service (Data Resiliency Service). The connection manager uses the proxy server to communicate with the Data Resiliency Service, ensuring that data is transmitted securely and efficiently.

You can use this feature to configure the connection manager to use an optional web proxy for routing outbound connections to the Data Resiliency Service. It also enables automatic download of packages from the online repository to keep the connection manager updated and secure.

You can easily specify the proxy configurations and enjoy uninterrupted access to inventory, recovery, and other operations, all while maintaining the security and integrity of your on-premises network.

Data Management Service updates:

Next-Gen Cloud Edition (NGCE) clusters

IBM Storage Defender Data Management Service (Data Management Service) now supports the deployment of NGCE clusters. The NGCE clusters are the new generation of cloud-based clusters that are designed to provide increased availability, scalability, and performance.

You can now deploy the next-generation cloud edition clusters for Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Previously, Data Management Service supported deployment of only Cloud Edition (CE) cluster for AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP.

Expanding storage capacity with node addition

You can now add nodes to the existing CE and NGCE clusters that are deployed through Data Management Service to increase the overall storage capacity of a cluster. You can use this feature to scale your storage infrastructure as needed, ensuring that your cluster can handle growing demand of data.

General enhancements

In this release, we have implemented several improvements to enhance the overall scale, performance, and platform resilience for IBM Storage Defender. These enhancements are also designed to provide a better user experience for our users.
