4 new PTFs for IBM Open Enterprise SDK are now available!

IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python enables application developers to use one of the fastest growing programming languages natively on the z/OS platform. With the latest release of Open Enterprise SDK for Python, IBM brings the popular Python open source language to help accelerate business transformation and modernization by enabling powerful frameworks for AI & ML, DevOps, and automation.

IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.12.3 is now available. This release is based on the Python 3.12.3 community release.

New features/updates for IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.12.3 from IBM include the following:

  • Updated cpython to 3.12.3
  • Updated pip to 24.0
  • Improved auto conversion handling when using stdin
  • Improved auto conversion when using getpass
  • Added support for the decompression of "compress" (.Z) file type

IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.11.9 is now available.  This release is based on the Python 3.11.9 community release.

New features/updates for IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.11.9 from IBM include the following:

  • Updated cpython to 3.11.9
  • Updated pip to 24.0
  • Improved auto conversion handling when using stdin
  • Improved auto conversion when using getpass

IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.10.14 is now available.  This release is based on the Python 3.10.14 community release.

New features/updates for IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.10.14 from IBM include the following:

  • Updated cpython to 3.10.14
  • Updated pip to 24.0
  • Improved auto conversion handling when using stdin
  • Improved auto conversion when using getpass

IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.9.19 is now available.  This release is based on the Python 3.9.19 community release.

New features/updates for IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.9.19 from IBM include the following:

  • Updated cpython to 3.9.19
  • Updated pip to 24.0
  • Improved auto conversion when using getpass

Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.9 reached End-of-Extended-Service in April 2024. The corresponding EPTW website will be deactivated soon. Please update your Python installation to the latest Python 3.12 release.
