The IBM TechXchange 2025 App Is Here!

I haven’t seen any official notices about it yet, but the TechXchange 2025 app is now live and in the app stores. If you’re heading to Orlando, I highly recommend downloading it early so you can get set up and start planning. Here are some tips to make the most of it:

1. Update If You Have an Old Version

Several folks (myself included) found that the 2025 event wasn’t showing up, or the app wouldn’t launch at all. No error messages were given—it just didn’t launch.

👉 Solution: Simply update the app in your App Store (Apple/Google Play) and it should work fine.

2. Download the App

If you don’t already have it installed, search for IBM Events in your app store. It’s mobile-only—there’s no desktop version.

When you first open it, you’ll log in with your IBM ID or an OTP code. Then select the TechXchange event. (If you’re registered for other IBM events, you’ll see them here too.)

3. Dive In

When you first open the app you’ll need to log in with your IBM ID or an OTP code. Then you’ll need to select the TechXchange event. There are also other events listed, so if you’re registered for those you can access them all in one place.

After you’re in the event app, you’ll see the “Build My Agenda” button and below that three big buttons, “Connect,” “Explore,” and “Play.” But don’t dive in yet. First go set up your profile.

4. Set Up Your Profile First

Before diving into all the features, set up your profile to make the most of networking features. Some of your profile will already be set up from when you registered, but won’t have permission to be visible yet. Go in and set it tup:

  1. Use the hamburger menu (top left) to get to the main navigation panel.
  2. Tap your name → View My ProfileEdit.
  3. Give permission to make your profile visible for networking.
  4. Add a short bio and check that your company/title info is correct.
  5. Save it with the save button in the upper right corner.

4. Use the Networking Features

This is one of the most powerful parts of the app. I recommend getting familiar with the networking features.

Back in the main nav panel, scroll down to Connect with Peers (you can also hit the big Connect button on the main page).
That brings you, first, to a 1:1 Meetings summary page. But you won’t have any set up yet, so it will all be blank. At the bottom, there is a blue text bubble icon that you can click on to quickly get to your existing text conversations in the app. But, again, it’ will be empty since you just opened the app. So, you’ll need to click on Attendees or Recommended.

  • Recommended: The app suggests people to connect with based on your profile.
  • Attendees: Search by name, company, or title. (Speakers and IBMers are pre-loaded, but attendees must opt-in to appear.)
  • Once you find someone, you can favorite them, send an in-app message, or schedule a meeting.

Back on the home page there is an Explore page that leads to a lot of other items too, one of the main thins is the Champions section. You can find champion led sessions, all about the Champions program, and learn about where to meet them (the Champions lounge).

💡 Pro Tip: Networking through the app before arriving in Orlando is a great way to line up conversations, meetings, or connect with colleagues and make the most of your time at the event.

5. Explore & Plan Your Agenda

From the main navigation, you can:

  • Browse the Session Catalog and build your agenda.
  • Discover Partner Day sessions.
  • Get info on training, certifications, and digital badges.
  • Access event maps to find your way around.

6. Don’t Miss the Fun Stuff

The app isn’t just about logistics—it also adds some gamification and event perks:

  • 🎯 Sticker Scavenger Hunt
  • 📱 Mobile Challenge – earn points by completing quick challenges

·       💻 Hackathons (find them under the Explore button on the main page)

·       🌍 Impact Hub – volunteer activities where you can make a social impact

  • 🎢 Access details for Universal Orlando Resorts & Islands of Adventure
  • 🤝 Learn more about sponsors and exhibitors

These are great icebreakers and fun ways to explore the conference space.

Final Tip

The app really does enhance the TechXchange experience. Download it, set up your profile, and start exploring now so you’ll be ready to hit the ground running when you arrive.
