Top 5 Things You Might Not Know You Can Do with IBM Control Center - Tip #2

By Savar Sareen posted Tue November 06, 2018 02:05 PM

As I mentioned yesterday, this week I’m sharing a new tip each day, focused on things you can do with IBM Control Center to make your life easier, It’s Tuesday, so here’s my second tip.

Tip 2) Set-up direct, permissioned access for business users. You can enable the self-service capability more broadly. When you remove yourself as the single point of access, business and less technical users can get the information they need and answer their own questions. Permission-based, segmented direct access to Control Center, allows you to provide access but with control. Users only have access to the data they need with read-only or read/edit capabilities that you set. If you operate in a regulated industry, like financial services or healthcare, these controls help ensure organizational integrity and compliance with stringent privacy and security mandates. This approach also saves time and eliminates complexity for the business user.

Power users who are already taking advantage of this feature tell us it saves them at least an hour a day. Without having to respond to as many queries from business users, they can focus on the other critical tasks that require their level of technical expertise to complete.

If you missed it, check out Tip 1 to learn how to easily avoid query overload and empower users with “Monitor this.”  Come back tomorrow for Tip 3.
