Greetings to the IBM Security i2 Community! The i2 team is excited to share 'What's New with i2' in the 3Q21 releases. IBM i2 continues to evolve the portfolio to bring innovative solutions supporting mission-critical i2 customers who ensure safety and security across the globe.

August 31, 2021 general availability
 IBM i2 Analyst's Notebook Premium 9.3.0 (note: now includes i2 connect external search capabilities)

July 23, 2021 general availability
 IBM i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis 2.4.0
 IBM i2 Connect 1.1.0 (note: i2 connect capabilities transitioned to Analyst's Notebook Premium 9.3.0 on August 31, 2021. i2 Connect is no longer a stand-alone offering)

3Q21 Release Highlights


Analysis: i2 notebook web client
For the first time, users can consume i2 capabilities and conduct link analysis from a web browser using the i2 notebook web client. This feature is included with both i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis and i2 Analyst's Notebook Premium, and enables external search, visual query, get path, and more!

Data Acquisition: External search with Analyst’s Notebook Premium
i2 Analyst’s Notebook Premium now includes external search functionality. Users can search internal, external, and commercially available data sources via API, without the need to bring data into a dedicated repository.

Flexibility: i2 Open Source Project
The software development toolkit (SDK) for the i2 notebook web client is publicly available on GitHub, providing customers and partners with the flexibility to create tailored solutions to meet unique mission requirements.

Collaboration: Chart Store
In case you missed it, in 4Q2020 the Chart Store was added as a feature of both i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis and i2 Analyst’s Notebook Premium. Users have the capability to store, search, and share charts to foster collaborative working and unlock intelligence held in i2 charts for a wider community of users.

Product update: i2 Connect no longer a stand-alone offering
While the rich functionality of i2 connect will continue as a feature of i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis and i2 Analyst’s Notebook Premium, i2 Connect is no longer a stand-alone offering as of August 31, 2021. Existing i2 Connect licenses will transition to i2 Analyst’s Notebook Premium.

    • external search capabilities via i2 connect included in product
    • external search display now shows users which data sources are available to be queried, helping streamline data acquisition
    • flexible external search security integration includes credential management such as user name/password, authentication, or API key
    • Records Bar enhancements offer a simplified view, with additional details available via a drop-down menu
    • Find Matching Records tool now allows users to merge information from multiple records into a target record
