This demonstration was developed by myself and a team from across IBM global sales during our annual watsonx challenge. It shows off the power of watsonx.ai in a scenario that is relatable to practically all of our clients. This custom application we call "What's The Buzz" has the power to help businesses respond to customer feedback through public comments more efficiently and at a lower cost. Improving customer loyalty with the power of generative AI.
The video demonstration walks through an example usage where we want to show the upper management at McDonald's how this application will improve the work of their customer experience managers.
What's The Buzz provides the ability to search for any public business, and view aggregated reviews from different sites such as Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor, and Facebook. This is important as different review sites can provide insights into different customer segments. What's The Buzz immediately presents you with readily available statistics such as total reviews, review growth, average rating, and percentage responded to. The true value is unlocked when you load one of these businesses, and IBM's watsonx.ai generates a summary of all user reviews. This gives a great high-level understanding into how this location is performing in the eyes of the consumers. Additionally, each individual review is listed from across different sites. Using watsonx.ai you can generate a response to each review using as you see fit, and each reply generation is editable because we want to retain the ability to add a personal touch. Within seconds, you can reply to customers to improve their loyalty to their store.
One of the most important pieces of the application is the ability to extend the generation with custom models, which can leverage client data pertaining to customer feedback and experience. watsonx.ai can be used to leverage business-ready data to prompt-tune a model for greater accuracy, or you can import your own fully custom model directly into the platform. We have also made InstructLab available recently, allowing clients to add additional "skills" or "knowledge" to a particular model. (read more: https://github.com/instructlab) This will show off the real advantages of watsonx; not just a chatbot based on unknown internet data, but rather a true AI assistant, incorporating a company's assets into a solution.
We want to share this broadly to get more people comfortable with using generative AI for the business. Our inspiration for this application was to augment the work of PR and Marketing professionals, while maintaining IBM's framework of trustworthy, ethical, and human-centered AI.
