Maximo User Group Meeting UK and Ireland
Wednesday 6th June 2018
Birmingham
Again, the Maximo User Group were on their travels– this time at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham in conjunction with ‘Reliability Web’ for a two-day event.
This meeting had a completely different feel and was an early start for all. First up was our Keynote presenter Terrence O’Hanlon - this was a slick, fast-paced, professional presentation, ‘Stop Pushing On The Front Of The Ship’.
The change of pace continued within the Maximo User Group meeting. After an interesting short presentation by CIM and Dragon LNG ‘Maximo Key Elements for Reliability’, it was followed by a World Café Style workshop (some referred to it as Speed dating! it works on a similar concept apparently!). A massive thanks to our six SMEs delivering talks on the following subjects:
· Integration – Nigel Taylor (Peacock Engineering Ltd)
· Concurrent Licencing – Cyrus Scorab (IBM)
· Mobile – Lucas Heron (Peacock Engineering Ltd) Anna O’Brien (IBM)
· Environment Management – Mark Robbins (Vetasi)
· Data Management – Will Reynolds (SRO)
· Requirements Gathering – Richard Walker (DNASTREAM Ltd)

Each SME presented for 10 minutes with our users having the opportunity to quiz the SME’s before they moved on to the next table. Questions were collated and were answered to the whole group after lunch. A very interactive session.

We were also invited to join the Reliability Web group again for some short ‘TED’ style talks covering subjects like ‘Maximo and Blockchain’, ‘Reliability, Why the Human Factor is so Essential’ and ‘What does it take to be Successful with Maximo Mobility?’.
Day 2 continued with the reliability and asset management theme with various presentations including, ‘Achieving Top Quartile Reliability Workshop’ and ‘How to Support, Promote and Sustain an Asset Condition Monitoring Project’. All very interesting and thought provoking.
There has already been very positive feedback about this new format! All ideas welcome for the next meeting. The next meeting will be on 28th November back at the Southbank – sign up so you don’t miss out!

If you were unable to attend this meeting in short this is what you missed:
- Shake up of the MUG meeting format
- Slick professional presentations from the Reliability Web
- Networking opportunities
- New ideas for your company
- Hot lunch & cold beer and wine
- Chance to see some beautiful motorbikes
A huge thank you too for our sponsors:
