IBM continues to enhance its OMEGAMON monitoring capabilities by providing innovative solutions to its customers. With the release of IBM Tivoli Management Services on z/OS 6.3.4, a new component, IBM Z OMEGAMON Data Requester, has been introduced to bring the OMEGAMON performance data monitoring experiences to the next level with the Grafana platform.

IBM Z OMEGAMON Data Requester 1.1 brings several features designed to provide a unified enterprise view of OMEGAMON data and simplify dashboard creation and customization. IBM Z OMEGAMON Data Requester is delivered as a Plugin that connects Grafana via the OMEGAMON REST API, allowing real-time performance metrics to flow into customizable Grafana dashboards.

IBM Z OMEGAMON Data Requester comes with a set of starter dashboards. These dashboards offer visibility into the performance of OMEGAMON agents, giving you a powerful starting point for data analysis and monitoring. The following image illustrates the Enterprise Overview dashboard, where you can explore specific OMEGAMON agent dashboards by selecting the relevant tabs in the horizontal navigation:

This function provides you with control over the data you wish to visualize in Grafana, enabling the creation of dashboards tailored to your unique needs. Whether you're looking to monitor transaction throughput, resource usage, or job performance, the query editor helps you extract the exact data you need.
