After you install the IBM Db2 Data Management Console there are a few things you will be prompted to do.

Since we will no longer limit the use of historical monitoring to just our Advanced Edition customers, all users will be able to store the history of their database. However as part of the post installation configuration you do need to provide access to a Db2 database where the console will store all its data.
Required privileges
The IBM Db2 Data Management Console will use the ID and password that you provide to create the necessary objects in the repository database. Make sure that the account you use has been granted the proper privileges to enable a repository database. For a Db2 repository database, the user must have the DBADM and SYSCTRL privileges.
Setup repository
Enter the connection parameters for your repository database, along with the credentials of the repository database owner and click Save. The console will create the necessary objects into the repository database. After you first install IBM Db2 Data Management Console or if you want to change the repository setting, you can go to the Repository Setting page to setup or change the repository database configuration.
Add your first database to monitor and manage
- Log in to the Data Management Console.
- Go to the gear icon at the top right of the page (Settings) and select Connection Profile.
- Select Add connection and complete the connection information for your first database. You can enter separate userid and passwords for monitoring and operational or administrative task.
Once you have created a connection to your first database it will take about five minutes for the initial monitoring data collection to be ready.
