We are pleased to announce the general availability of IBM^® Semeru Runtimes^™ 4Q25 quarterly updates for Open Edition and Certified Edition (non-z/OS; multi-platforms). These releases are based on Eclipse OpenJ9 0.56.0 and OpenJDK jdk8u472-b08 (Open Edition only), jdk-11.0.29+5, jdk-17.0.17+7, jdk-21.0.9+9 and jdk-25.0.1+8 respectively.  The binaries are available on our standard distribution sites as on Oct 30, 2025. With these releases, IBM Semeru Runtimes (Open Edition and Certified Edition) for multi-platforms contain the latest CPU and security fixes from the OpenJDK Oct’25 updates.

• Security fixes from OpenJDK Oct'25 CPU Updates as well as fixes and performance improvements from the latest OpenJ9 (0.56)

• Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) algorithms (ML-KEM and ML-DSA) support for Mac x86-64 (Semeru Runtimes 11+)
• Support for balanced FIPS 140-3 profile 
• Support for SLES 15.7
