We are pleased to announce the general availability of IBM^® SDK, Java^™ Technology Edition, v8.0 SR8 FP50 (8.0.8.50) across all supported platforms except AIX and z/OS. The binaries have been made available across all distribution sites as on 31st July 2025. The binaries for AIX and z/OS platforms will be released shortly (expected on or before 05th Aug 2025). However the binaries for all platforms (including AIX and z/OS) are already made available in Java Information Manager (JIM) (IBM Only Access).This release is based on Oracle's July’25 CPU update that contains security fixes along with several key updates as detailed below.

IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition, v8.0 SR8 FP50 contains the following key updates:

• Offheap support is added for the balanced GC policy (all platforms).
• The IBMJSSE2 provider now supports the use of the Edwards-curve Digital Signature Algorithm (EdDSA) (all platforms).
• Support is added for TLS channel binding tokens for Negotiate or Kerberos authentication over HTTPS (all platforms).
• IBMJCEPlus provider now supports Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) algorithms Module-Lattice-Based Digital Signature Algorithm (ML-DSA) and Module-Lattice-Based Key Encapsulation Mechanism (ML-KEM) algorithm in the following 64-bit platform environments:

• Linux on x86-64
• Linux on IBM Power Little Endian (LE)
• AIX on POWER (64 bit)
• Windows on x86-64

• Removal of Baltimore and two Camerfirma root certificates from the cacerts truststore (Baltimore CyberTrust Root, Global Chambersign Root-2008, Chambers of Commerce Root certificates)
• Support for z/OS 3.2
• Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 10
• Support for RHEL 9.6
• tz2025b time zone update
