We are pleased to announce the general availability of IBM® Semeru Runtime™ Open Edition 2Q25 quarterly updates. These releases are based on Eclipse OpenJ9 0.51 and OpenJDK jdk8u452-b09, jdk-11.0.27+6, jdk-17.0.15+6 and jdk-21.0.7+6 respectively.  The binaries are available on our standard distribution sites as on May 07, 2025. With these releases, IBM Semeru Runtime Open Edition contains the latest CPU and security fixes from the OpenJDK Apr’25 updates.

Key Contents in the 2Q25 Quarterly Update of IBM Semeru Runtime Open Edition:

• This release supports IBM z17™ for Linux on IBM Z platform. Read more about unlocking IBM z17 Java Performance with IBM Semeru Runtimes here.
• Support for JDK Flight Recorder (JFR) is made available for all platforms starting from IBM Semeru Runtimes v11+.
