Overview
Turbonomic is a leading solution for Application Resource Management (ARM), using an application-driven approach to continuously analyze resource needs and generate automated actions that ensure optimal application performance.
OpenShift is a scalable, reliable platform designed to support modern virtualization workloads. With OpenShift Virtualization, customers can manage virtual machines within a cloud-native environment using Kubernetes.
This blog highlights Turbonomic’s observability capabilities for OpenShift Virtualization, offering actionable insights into resource utilization, performance, and cost for virtual machine workloads. Users can leverage these insights to maximize resource efficiency and enhance application performance.
Solution
Turbonomic previously supported container workloads on the OpenShift platform but did not extend support to virtual machine workloads.
Many customers running VM-based workloads are looking to move to OpenShift to host both containers and virtual machines. Additionally, VMware users seeking an alternative platform for their VMs can now migrate their existing VM estates to OpenShift.
With these new enhancements, Turbonomic now supports virtual machine workloads and applications as well. It is the only Application Resource Management (ARM) solution that supports both VMware and OpenShift platforms.
Based on the real-time and historical applications demand, Turbonomic can suggest best actions at the right time to ensure applications get exactly what they need to perform. It enables users to:
