Introducing IBM Workload Automation/Scheduler (IWA/IWS) Version 10.2.4!

The Workload Automation and Scheduler 10.2.X releases are a continuous delivery product, and we are excited to announce that we GA'ed version 10.2.4 today.

With this version comes new features, enhanced capabilities and important fixes for an improved workload automation experience.

New key features and capabilities include:

Advanced Monitoring with OQL: Precision Control.

·       Leverage the powerful Orchestration Query Language (OQL) for precise monitoring of your Workload Automation environment.

·       Write complex queries using OQL keywords and syntax to filter and retrieve specific data from your database.

·       Apply OQL to REST API V2, Orchestration CLI, and the Orchestration Monitor within the Dynamic Workload Console for consistent monitoring across platforms.

Streamlined Operator Instructions: Enhanced Clarity.

·       Access operator instructions directly from the Orchestration Monitor for jobs and job streams in the plan.

·       Navigate through "Job Stream," "Job Instance," and "Job Definition" tabs for comprehensive information.

·       View descriptions and comments (limited to 4,000 characters) for improved operational guidance.

CyberArk Integration for Password Management: Enhanced Security.

·       Integrate Workload Automation with CyberArk or other password vaults for secure password management.

·       Configure dynamic agents, pools, or dynamic pools to retrieve passwords as needed for job runs.

·       Ensure high availability with dynamic pools, automatically selecting the best-suited agent for password retrieval.

Advanced Workflow Automation: Job Stream Nesting.

·       Utilize the Job Stream Submission job plug-in to automate job stream submissions.

·       Implement nested job streams to create complex, multi-layered automation scenarios.

·       Achieve precise orchestration of interdependent tasks, enhancing workflow efficiency.

Set & remove no operation Commands: Enhanced Job Control.

·       Modify job instances directly from the Orchestration Monitor or Job Stream View, without altering the job definition.

·       Use the Set no operation command to set a job instance status to "No operation," preventing its run.

·       Use the Remove no operation command to remove the "No operation" condition, letting the job run as designed.

Unified Graphical Designer: Streamlining Workload Automation Setup.

  • The integrated Graphical Designer now includes enhanced capabilities for workstation, resource, and run cycle group management.
  • Users can define and manage their automation environment's infrastructure and scheduling within a single, intuitive interface.
  • Create diverse workstation types, manage resources, and leverage run cycle groups as triggers for job streams.
  • Enables the design of more intricate automation scenarios.
