Intro

On 17 February 2025, DP World proudly hosted the first GCC Maximo User Group Conference at the DP World Pavilion in Expo City Dubai.

This inaugural event brought together Maximo users, IBM experts, and industry leaders from across the Gulf to share experiences, discuss challenges, and explore the future of enterprise asset management. With a full day of keynotes, case studies, workshops, and networking, the conference set a strong foundation for a thriving GCC Maximo community.

Event Highlights

  • Opening Keynote – Maksim Mihic, EVP GOE at DP World, emphasized collaboration and innovation to maximize the value of assets across the GCC.

  • Cybersecurity in Asset Management – IBM, Claroty, and DP World demonstrated how OT device management can strengthen cyber resilience.

  • Kuwait Oil Company’s Journey to MAS 9 – KOC and Praxis shared lessons from their migration, focusing on scalability, performance, and AI integration.

  • DP World Jeddah Optimization Program – Insights on improving data quality, workflows, and reporting to enhance efficiency.

  • Expert Panel – Practitioners and IBM leaders discussed MAS adoption, mobility, and HSE priorities.

Across coffee breaks, panel discussions, and workshops, participants shared their challenges, successes, and ambitions for Maximo. The energy in the room confirmed the need for a dedicated GCC Maximo User Group — a platform where peers can learn from one another and collaborate with IBM experts.
