I have extensive experience of setting up PROIV on the IBM-Z under CICS. Have never been on a course to set this up. It has always been learning from experienced colleagues and great help from IBM support.
It becomes intuitive once your getting the starting knowledge.
There is a vast amount of experience out there and the IBM community are helpful and very supportive
