Release Recap: IBM Cloudability MSP Q2 2025
New Cloudability Features That Put You and Your Customers in Control
Q2 2025 brought a wave of powerful updates to Cloudability MSP, designed to help Managed Service Providers better serve their end customers with more flexibility, transparency, and FinOps empowerment.
Here’s why these updates matter—and how you can use them to deliver more value:
🔍 Expose Item Descriptions for Better Reporting
You can now selectively expose item descriptions in rerated end consumer reports. This is a game-changer for vendors like Azure, where critical service details live in the item description.
Why it matters:
Your customers get richer, more actionable reports—without compromising control.
How to use it:
Toggle visibility per vendor in Billing (Price Books) > Settings. Reprocess for historical data if needed.
🔄 Self-Service Pricing Type Changes
No more waiting on support tickets! MSP admins can now change the pricing type of MSP end consumers directly.
Why it matters:
Faster operations and more autonomy for your team.
How to use it:
Deprovision end customer → Update Pricing Type → Reprovision end customer in the Org Structure Service.
📦 Container Cost Visibility for Rerated End Consumers
Your customers can now see and allocate their own Kubernetes container costs using the Cash/Cost(Total) cost basis.
Why it matters:
This unlocks true FinOps potential—customers can now take ownership of container cost optimization.
How to use it:
Install the Cloudability Metrics Agent from the End Customer Container Cost Allocation section, data ingest will take 24-48 hrs, then guide customers through the robust Containers cost information!
📉 Rightsizing for Rerated End Consumers
End consumers can now access rightsizing recommendations and track ROI—without relying solely on you.
Why it matters:
Empowers hands-on customers to optimize their cloud spend and see real savings based on on-demand costs (Cost(List)).
How to use it:
Encourage customers to explore Rightsizing, Preferences, and Policies in their environments.
