A while back I blogged about the new OpenTelemetry trace support we added to MQ for z/OS, and how that was part of a z/OS wide effort to add OpenTelemetry to the platform. Following on from that I wanted to make people aware of a webinar on the topic next week, details below.

IBM is announcing a comprehensive observability capability for IBM Z—delivering structured telemetry natively from the platform, including direct OpenTelemetry trace span emission from z/OS subsystems (CICS, IMS, Db2, MQ), together with new approaches for metrics and log support that enable managed, open standards‑based integration with enterprise observability platforms, including IBM Instana.
