Content Assistant now provides the flexibility for clients to keep their data on premises

The volume of content that users must find and read through every day to make critical business decisions is daunting. The insights they need are buried within a variety of lengthy documents within massive repositories of enterprise content. Easily finding up-to-date, accurate information is crucial to every business and Content Assistant delivers. Generative AI combined with IBM FileNet Content Manager has already made a significant impact with the SaaS edition of IBM Content Assistant so that users can get tailored summaries of lengthy documents and immediate answers to their questions.

However, since IBM Content Assistant’s inception, the most commonly requested enhancement has been oriented around flexibility: many customers desire the ability to apply generative AI across the enterprise while keeping their data on-premises. That’s why we’re excited to announce IBM Content Assistant Client Managed Software, a new client-managed add-on to IBM FileNet Content Manager. IBM Content Assistant Client Managed software transforms the way IBM FileNet Content Manager customers interact with their content by providing them with tailored document summaries and the ability to ask natural language questions to glean insights on critical business information - whether they’re focused on an individual document or asking a question against their entire content repository - all while maintaining enterprise-grade security.

IBM Content Assistant Client Managed Software also provides new capabilities for comparing documents or versions of a document (including documents across different file types) so that users can quickly identify differences in content. Both comparison capabilities support the ability to provide custom guidance, allowing users to ensure they receive the insights that are most critical to them.

Customers receive additional flexibility by choosing the hosting location for IBM watsonx.ai, which powers IBM Content Assistant Client Managed Software. Customers can choose between deploying IBM watsonx.ai on IBM Cloud, AWS, or on-premises to meet their requirements. There is no charge for the vector database running on premises. More information on how to configure the vector database with bring-your-own OpenSearch is available in our documentation. To maximize the options available to customers, IBM Content Assistant Client Managed Software can be deployed anywhere that IBM FileNet Content Manager is deployed.

For more information about IBM Content Assistant Client Managed Software, take a look at our documentation in the IBM Knowledge Center or contact your IBM Sales Representative.

You can also try out the SaaS edition of Content Assistant via the AWS Marketplace.
