I am delighted to share the immediate official general availability of the first release of the IBM Transformation Suite for SAP Applications, which helps transform their SAP ERP to S/4HANA, on RISE with SAP in the IBM PowerVS cloud or on IBM Power on-premises.

Migrating to S/4HANA is not an easy task, as you have to transform a core critical component of the client's business that cannot afford much downtime. Our goal is to significantly reduce risk for our clients and accelerate their migration to S/4HANA, resulting in faster return on investment. For that, we partner with established leaders, and repackage their technology in ways that are easier to order and consume.

Our first release: SAP analysis and data transformation

In this first release of the Suite, we are partnering with SNP, a leader in SAP data transformation. SNP technology allowed Pfizer to successfully complete their migration to S/4HANA with minimum downtime and distruption to their business, remarkable feat. This is also the technology used in our very own IBM-internal CIO project.

The Transformation Suite includes the following software and services from SNP:

• SNP Kyano Foundation: Stay agile with an up-to-date overview of your data landscape and provides landscape assessment.
• SNP Kyano Move: Makes data landscape transformation and restructuring faster and minimizes risk, whether you're merging company codes, migrating entire ERP systems, divesting business units or integrating data into cloud platforms.

So SNP Kyano Foundation is the analysis phase of the client's existing SAP environment, that is not yet running on S/4HANA. One of the most exciting capabilities is optional packaged services component called Kyano Foundation Assessment. It allows a business partner with little or no SAP expertise to propose a full assessment of an client's SAP landscape, prior to migration, thanks to services performed by SNP. This includes a kick-off, software-based analysis, preparation of results, and a workshop to remit and present the results to the client.

Designed for the IBM Power channel

We purposely designed the Transformation Suite to be sold by the IBM Power channel including our network of distributors (VAD) and resellers (VAR). That's why the suite is orderable in just a few clicks in the IBM e-configurator and features value seller pricing so that the reseller can set their own margin.

Future direction

We plan subsequent releases to evolve around two axis:

1. Add additional functionality including: code analysis and remediation, automated testing, migration security, AI capabilities.
2. Provide an IBM-developed Accelerator dashboard that federates the various components through APIs (around Q3 2025)

So stay tuned for future releases. But you can sell a full analysis of an existing SAP ECC environment and plan for data migration right away.
