Customers have more flexibility by using the UUID based SAP License keys

By Katharina Probst posted Wed June 23, 2021 05:05 PM

Problem: SAP License keys have been bound to the underlying HW key demanding to generate for LPM a key per potential target host.

Solution: IBM and SAP changed the key generation to use the LPAR ID (UUID) which does not change when moving from on server to the other.

Value:
By that customers have to generate and install for each message server a single license key by applying the procedure described in SAP Note 2879336.
Furthermore, unplanned downtimes after a message server restart with missing  license for the server is eliminated.
