Now OMEGAMON users can see Situation Event Alerts in a new way with streaming via OMEGAMON Data Provider (ODP) as the alerts becomes true or false.
This function is added with Tivoli Management Services on z/OS APAR OA68099, PTF - UJ98454 and OMEGAMON Data Provider APAR OA68403, PTF - UJ98509 and Configuration Manager APAR OA68536.
Let us review other places OMEGAMON Situation Events can also be seen today.
1) OMEGAMON e3270UI provides the Situation Events Console and Situation Status Tree views for viewing current Situation Status.

The Tivoli Enterprise Portal (TEP) also has a Situation Event Console display.
Then the OMEGAMON ITMz REST API calls can provide current Situation Event status in JSON to program callers too. This is the method used by the OMEGAMON Web Ui for the above dashboard example.
Next Situation notification can happen via the zOSWTO Take action when a situation becomes true. This will write the event to the zOS Log where System Automation products can then notify site people of the event.

So the new function added is with OMEGAMON Data Provider (ODP) APAR-14 OA68403, UJ98509 and ITMz OA68099, UJ98509, there is a new option in KDSENV called STREAM_SITUATION_STATUS=Y (default is N for No). Then ITMz when situations become TRUE or False will send a notification via ODP of the event change. Users of ODP can receive this Situation Event information for viewing and action.
Configuration Manager support of the new KDSENV parm is in OA68536.
In summary OMEGAMON provides a full set of functions for Alerting and Situation notification. We have now added this ODP Streaming option to allow ODP customer viewing as OMEGAMON Situations before TRUE and False.
