IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS delivers easier access to CEC and system level key metrics

By Jean-Marc van der Kolk posted Mon July 01, 2024 09:37 AM

I am happy to share that a new version of IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS is available, following the 4-weekly delivery schedule for this product. The new release is available through the usual IBM channel (Fix central).

For this release a supporting release video is available. You can find it here: https://intellimagic-1.wistia.com/medias/0efog44qee

Below you will find a short summary of the most important changes that are included in IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS 1.1.0.3-ZIM-2024.6.0:

  1. New views presenting multiple key performance indicators at a glance at the processor (CEC) and system levels are now provided with IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS 2024.6.0.
  2. Enhancements have been made to the drilldowns from the CEC configuration table accessed through “Systems, Paging, WLM → 4HRA and Polarity → CECs”. A “Systems” drilldown has been added to provide direct access to the “LPAR Config” table in the same report set with a constraint on the selected CEC. The existing “By Time” drilldown was renamed to “MIPS by Polarity” to better describe the report being generated.
  3. Visibility into the new metrics provided with XCF Transport Class Simplification has been enhanced. XCF now captures separate sets of metrics for each XCF “utilization” (25% / 50% / 75% / 100%) which correspond to the number of concurrent XCF reads taking place (1 through 4). An “XCF Util” drilldown has been added to the Windows, Signals, Utilization, and Response line charts in the “Path and Bucket Analysis” report set to display the values for each of the 4 “utilizations”.

You can find more information in the Release Notes document that is available as part of the package in Fix Central.

Stay tuned for further improvements to be available in 4 weeks.
