Java on z/OS service stream enhancements

The Java on z/OS team is delighted to share some recent feature enhancements (via RFE requests, customer feedback, etc) through our Java release service stream.
Below are some key highlights:
  • (V8 SR6 FP25) Enhancement to JSSE to support TLS 1.3, via IBMJCEPlus provider (link)
  • (V8 SR6 FP35) 31/64-bit Interoperability to enable 64-bit Java development, while maintaining interoperability with 31-bit native libraries. This allows 31-bit native libraries to communicate with 64-bit Java applications.  (link)
  • (V8 SR6 FP35) JZOS has been updated to add read and locate unlocked support to ZFile class (link - read_unlocked, locate_unlocked)
  • New APIs are now supported on z/OS, to report CPU utilization for process and system (link - getProcessCpuTime, getSystemCpuLoad)
