As your data grows, are you looking for an opportunity to process larger workloads, more efficiently, with leading-edge technologies?
Then check out the new IBM Spectrum Protect Blueprints and scripts. The Blueprint for Linux on Power Systems, published on July 17, leverages IBM
POWER9™ technology. POWER9 is built for demanding, high-speed computing with data-intensive workloads.
The new Linux on Power Systems guide completes the Version 4, Release 1 Blueprints collection:
- Blueprint and Server Automated Configuration for AIX
- Blueprint and Server Automated Configuration for Linux x86
- Blueprint and Server Automated Configuration for Linux on Power Systems (Little Endian)
- Blueprint and Server Automated Configuration for Windows
The Blueprints are gaining popularity around the world because they serve as “cookbooks” for setting up IBM Spectrum Protect environments. Small, medium, and large architectures are described in detail, including hardware model numbers and configuration requirements. You can use the automated scripts to accelerate installation and configuration, validate the system environment, and verify that performance is up to speed.
What's new?
The latest Blueprints open the gateway to newer and faster technologies:
- Implement POWER9™ technology for data-intensive computing
You can now take advantage of POWER9 processor technology on the IBM AIX® and Linux on Power Systems operating systems. - Take advantage of newer Intel server generations
Take advantage of newer server generations when you install IBM Spectrum Protect on a Linux x86_64 or a Microsoft Windows operating system in a medium or large configuration. These configurations incorporate the Lenovo ThinkSystem SR650 server, which uses Intel Xeon Scalable processors to help optimize performance. - Handle larger workloads with Storwize® V5020
The medium Blueprint is now based on IBM Storwize V5020 hardware, which supports larger storage pool and database capacities to process larger workloads. - Increase the IBM Spectrum Protect database to 8 TB
In the large configuration, you can now increase database capacity up to 8 TB. Previously, the maximum size of the IBM Spectrum Protect database was 6 TB.
Are you ready for the challenges of growing workloads? You can face the future with confidence. Take the first step in the right direction by visiting the IBM Spectrum Protect Blueprints website.
