By Gabriel Aberasturi posted Tue December 20, 2016 05:06 AM

It's here...IBM Digital Experience V9.0!!! take a look at the announcement letter. General availability starting December 13, 2016

IBM Digital Experience V9.0 offerings provide integration with IBM Cognitive Engagement solutions and enable hybrid cloud capability to deliver engaging multichannel experiences

Some useful information

Note for V9 customers: You cannot migrate directly to IBM® WebSphere Portal Version 9.0. You must migrate first to WebSphere Portal Version 8.5.0 with the latest combined cumulative fix applied. Finally, install WebSphere Portal Version 9.0. With IBM WebSphere Portal Version 9.0, you can keep your profile at the current level or migrate your profile to IBM WebSphere Application Server Version 9.0.

So the only migration path is v8.5 to v9

And now some confusing notes about WebSphere Application Server v9 that sure will be clarified in the next days.

We have the next note in What's New section of the WebSphere Portal v9

IBM WebSphere Portal Version 8.5 and 9.0
Starting with CF13, combined cumulative fixes apply to both WebSphere Portal version 8.5 and 9.0.
The IBM Knowledge Center for Version 9.0 contains installation documentation and documentation on how to migrate your
IBM WebSphere Application Server. After you install Version 9, return to the Version 8.5 IBM Knowledge Center for information on
how to configure and use WebSphere Portal.

But when we take a Related software for a specific product report

WebSphere Portal Server 9.0

We haven't WebSphere Application Server v9 to choice. Neither in the WebSphere Portal Server 8.5 :-(

I hope a footnote saying something like (WebSphere Application Server V9 support added with Cumulative Fix 13.) Maybe because the CF13 is still hot :-)

WebSphere Portal V8.5 CF 13

At WebSphere Portal Server v8.5 I'm not able to find information on how to configure and use WebSphere Portal 8.5 CF13 with WebSphere Application Server v9 but in WebSphere Portal Server v9 yes

Migrating to WebSphere Application Server V9.0

Enjoy the new Digital Experience :-)
