Db2 for z/OS customers can improve both their transactional latency and reduce their overnight batch processing time by utilizing zHyperLink for z/OS, a short distance, direct I/O connection between the mainframe and physical storage systems that provides significant improvement in Db2 logging latency over high-performance FICON. This paper details the results of a performance study focused on the performance improvement zHyperLink Write had on the total batch time of the SAP Core Banking Account Settlement workload.
