In an effort to make navigating IBM Db2’s Knowledge Center easier and more accessible, the Content Design team created a series of short videos. These videos are available on the welcome page of the Knowledge Center for v11.1 or can be watched from a playlist titled Tutorials – Db2 Content Design on YouTube from the channel IBMTraining. Each video provides a step-by-step guide with easy to follow instructions and real time examples. Each video is broken into sections and provides timestamps to allow you to easily navigate to the information you are most interested in.

An Overview of the IBM Knowledge Center

This first video reviews the user interface of the Knowledge Center and the different functionalities available to you. The video begins with explaining the layout of the Knowledge Center. It then proceeds to discuss the table of contents, and the accessibility tab. To help refine your search, the video also provides searching tips and how to specify the version of Db2 documentation you wish to find. If the information you seek cannot be found in any of the previously described sections, the video points you in the direction of further documentation. 

How to Print to PDF

This video provides a step-by-step guide to downloading the PDF of the topic(s) you are currently reading in the Knowledge Center. This feature is currently in beta and may be subject to changes.

Searching on the Knowledge Center

While the first video provided a brief explanation to navigating through the Db2 Knowledge Center, this video provides a more in-depth description of how to use the Knowledge Center search features. It covers where to find the search bar, whether you are currently on a topic page, or the Knowledge Center’s front page. After a search, you are instructed on how to navigate through the results and how you can preview a topic without leaving your results. The video also clarifies how you can broaden or narrow your search by product and version, as well as listing special operators you can use when typing in the search bar.
