Announcing IBM Business Automation Manager Open Editions 9.2 

We are thrilled to announce the release of IBM Business Automation Manager Open Edition (BAMOE) 9.2! A significant release focusing on stateless process automation and transforming the way developers approach decision automation.This update brings new features, improvements, and important fixes to enhance your automation experience. Featuring a full new set of capabilities and components for process automation, while enhancing decision management experience G.A 31st March 2025.  

Highlights of 9.2.0:
 

  • Next-gen Process Automation: As you create automation solutions, you can pick and choose exactly what you need for each use case. With an extremely lightweight foundation platform, address scenarios such as:  straight-through processing, human-driven operations, automated decisions, services orchestration, and even complex process automation scenarios. 

  • Powerful combination of processes & decision: Accelerate operations with automated decision making based on a seamless integration between processes and decisions. 

  • Extremely flexible human-driven workflows: Adapt workflows to align with your company's practices and policies with customized lifecycles, task assignment strategies, group mappings, advanced time management, SLA tracking and more. 

  • Event capabilities: Audit process operations and accelerate the delivery of event-driven process/decision services without worrying about writing "glue code".

    • Performant data querying New: Enriched data from flexible retrievals using GraphQL 

    • Seamless integration with Kafka: Focus on your business processes, as integration code gets automatically generated for you. 

    • Event-driven Processes: Use BPMN events to design event-driven processes 

    • Process data auditing: 
      Asynchronous auditing can automatically emit events and enable tracking processes and tasks execution. 

Human-Driven Workflows:  

Design & consume workflows with:

    • SLA tracking
    • Customizable user groups
    • Decoupled user task data  
    • Task assignment strategies
    • Business Calendar for precise time management
    • New product-oriented endpoints (e.g. /usertasks)
