Enterprise COBOL for z/OS 6.4 and 6.2 documentation is refreshed today to include the following enhancements:

Enhancements in COBOL 6.4 with PTFs installed: (For a complete list of Enterprise COBOL PTFs, check https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/604539):

• PH61700: The cjbuild utility is enhanced to allow users to specify the names of COBOL programs in the command line and process all files in the COBOL artifact directory. (cjbuild command reference)
• Runtime APAR PH61133 (V2R4 or later): You can use ddname IGZPROUT at the run step of your JCL to generate a report of all COBOL 5 or later programs that are called dynamically, statically, and via DLL linkage. (Generating a report of COBOL programs)

Enhancements in COBOL 6.2 with PTFs installed:

Documentation fixes in COBOL 6.4:

- In Programming Guide:

• Added a new difference in how the Db2 precompiler and coprocessor behave when SQL host variable contains FILLER data item. (Differences in how the Db2 precompiler and coprocessor behave)
• Corrected the information about dynamic calls support in a mixed AMODE 31/AMODE 64 environment. (LP)
• Updated the JZOS code example for invoking Java from a batch COBOL program. (Example: invoking Java from a batch COBOL program)
• Added the ways to assign the results of intrinsic functions. (Assigning values to data items)

- In Language Reference:

• Added a note to explicitly state that nested COPY REPLACING statements are not allowed. (Comparison and replacement examples)

- In Performance Tuning Guide:

• Added a note indicating that changing the NUMPROC option can lead to different behavior if there is invalid data, so thorough testing should be done. (NUMPROC)
• Added a note indicating that changing the TRUNC option can lead to different behavior if there is invalid data, so thorough testing should be done. (TRUNC)
