IBM® CICS® Performance Analyzer for z/OS® is a powerful off-line reporting tool to help you tune and manage your CICS systems. System programmers, performance analysts and developers can use reports and plug-in views. These tools help to identify and eliminate the causes of online performance issues, tune CICS systems for optimal performance, and analyze trends for capacity planning and performance bottlenecks.
IBM® CICS® Performance Analyzer for z/OS® (CICS PA) is constantly evolving. CICS PA 5.4 APAR PH66944 delivers enhancements to exploit Performance and Statistics changes introduced in IBM® CICS® Transaction Server (TS) for z/OS® Version 6 Release 3. In addition, other product enhancements in this APAR include:
- The extract Recap report for the following reports has been enhanced to provide the extracted byte count in addition to the existing record count. The addition of the extract byte count will assist you in determining the size of the extract files and the volume of data streamed to a remote host.

- Sample jobs for the top 5 reports have been added to the Samples library. The addition of these sample reports will allow you to quickly and easily customize and generate these reports using inline variables without the need to customize them using the CICS PA dialog.

- Samples jobs to extract Start Dashboard data have been added to the Samples library. The addition of the various ANALYTIC sample extracts will allow you to quickly and easily customize the extracts used to load CICS PA data into the supplied Start Dashboards using variables without the need to customize them using the CICS PA dialog.
