IBM Spectrum Protect previously provided on-premises cloud object storage as a back-end storage option. But now with IBM Spectrum Protect 8.1, public cloud object storage has been added as an additional safe, secure location option, providing regional, tiered storage for your data. The cross-region level of protection is a great option if you need the additional security levels to ensure that your data is secure and protected, even in the event of a large outage/disaster in a particular region.
