IBM SRA Troubleshooting -- Failed in Discover Device

  1. This error 90% possibly happened when customer manually restart/stop/switch/remove/add the remote copy or consistency group after a Test/Recovery failure. In this situation, the replication status remembered by SRA was different with the real status in storage, so you need to reset the SRA-STATUS.
    1. How to reset the SRA-STATUS:
      1. Do NOT reset SRA-STATUS if there are any recovery plans pending for Cleanup or Reprotect
      2. How to reset SRA-STATUS:
        1. Remove SRA-STATUS file in the SRA install path on both SRM machines. The default SRA install path is C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager\storage\sra\IBMSVC
        2. Remove all the *.d files in <SRM install path>\bin\ on both SRM machines. The default SRM install path is C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager
  2. Check the Name Filter in SRM Add Array Manager for both arrays, verify that the name filter values are symmetric for both arrays.
