Performance Impact of COMPMSG on MQ Sender/Receiver Channels

IBM MQ provides channel-level message compression (COMPMSG) on Sender/Receiver channels.

This short paper evaluates the performance impact of COMPMSG across multiple message sizes—also assessing compression efficiency with network latency—to show when it is beneficial to use compression and when baseline remains comparable. It compares Baseline, LZ4FAST, and ZLIBFAST, measuring message rate and CPU usage.
