Things are cooking up in Raleighwood, and I'm not talking about the heat and humidity - though my registered beautician for my hair would like to have a word about it. But anyway, as fans Raise Up for the Carolina Hurricanes’ playoff run, we’re bringing that same energy to the mainframe world with the release of IDz 16.0.7. So enough pitter patter, let's get at 'er!

Let’s take a look at some of the highlights in IBM Developer for z/OS Enterprise Edition 16.0.7 - a key part of the IBM Application Delivery Foundation for z/OS (ADFz). This release comes bundled and storm-surged with powerful new capabilities, including:

Dependency Based Build Integration

Pregame’s over and DBB hits the ice fast. The User Build wizard now opens quicker for copybook-heavy projects using cached data. And if you need a refresh? You’ve now got a new reload option in the Preferences.

Db2 for z/OS Development

It’s about to get LOUD in this house - check out the latest lineup of new features for Db2 for z/OS Development:

  • Deployment of COBOL and PL/I stored procedures.
  • Deployment of SQLJ stored procedures.
  • Run or call stored procedures of any LANGUAGE from source DDL.
  • Run or debug stored procedures directly from the editor.
  • Content Assist provides suggestions for schema, table, and column names.
  • Run SQL from Java and SQLJ source files.
  • Deploy User Defined Functions (UDFs).
  • Apply multiple filters of the same column type in Catalog Navigation.
  • Generate DDL for databases, indexes, tables, table spaces, and views.
  • Improved SQL error messaging.
  • Db2 connections now have the JDBC property retrieveMessagesFromServerOnGetMessage=true set by default.
  • A one-time migration will add this JDBC property to any existing connections automatically.
  • Save and reload stored procedure parameter values when calling or debugging routines.
  • Saved parameters from Data Studio can now be loaded when using IDz.
  • Option to display result set values as plain text in the Console view.
