Our Distinguished Participation in the Symposium
"Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation in the Industrial Sector within Iraq's Vision 2030"
This symposium is held in University of Baghdad- Al-Khawarizmi College of Engineering on Tuesday, 22-April-2025.
The symposium aimed to enhance integration between academic institutions and the industrial sector by introducing innovative digital solutions based on artificial intelligence technologies, the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and cybersecurity, in line with the requirements of the Industry4.0, adopted by the Iraqi Ministries Council Committee-The Supreme Committee for Artificial Intelligence and the Supreme Committee for Digital Transformation. The Symposium Attendees had adopted our ideas and recommendations
Our team:
1- Mr. Abdullah A. Jassim, Consultant Engineer member in Iraqi Engineers Union and Member of Arab Engineers Federation, Assistant Chief Engineer and Head of the AI Unit in Computer center – University of Baghdad,
2- Mr. Saifuldeen A. Mohammed , Consultant Engineer member in Iraqi Engineers Union and Member of Arab Engineers Federation, and Assistant Professor in College of Engineering, University of Baghdad,
Our Participations:
1- Abdullah A. Jassim had participated in the lecture "Innovation and Excellence in Iraq's Industrial Leadership through Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0: From Vision to Implementation."
2- Mr. Saifuldeen A. Mohammed had participated in the lecture " Artificial Intelligence in the Supply Chain Management"
Our innovative ideas and practical experiences which we introduced in our lectures:
1. Clarifying the strategy of the Supreme Committee for Artificial Intelligence regarding the Industry 4.0 within Iraq's Vision 2030 and achieving industrial leadership in accordance with Iraq's Vision 2050. This includes developing curricula, activating partnerships with leading global institutions, developing advanced expertise, localizing technology industries, and achieving a knowledge-based economy and sustainability.
2- The benefits of adopting technologies used by leading global industrial companies, we recommend use of IBM Watsonx Orchestrate with IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management solutions, IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management, IBM Tririga Enterprise Facilities Management, IBM Envizi Sustainability Management, and IBM Sterling Supply Chain Management.
3- For Industry 4.0 in Iraq, we recommend the Artificial Intelligence (AI) using IBM Watsonx Orchestrate to transform Iraqi industrial institutions into global industrial leaders, as part of an integrated strategies with IBM, Nvidia, Intel, and Microsoft, but in the Industry5.0 we may work with IBM to using IBM Watsonx Agentic AI from End to End.
4- Open Innovation: We pointed to his successful and distinguished experiences with IBM , it is necessary to establish advanced Partnerships with Leading Companies for successful practical steps for Applying the best solutions based on Industry 4.0 and industry 5.0, we reviewed our experience with IBM, we have been submitting 53 ideas, 14 of which were 1 idea is Delivered, 2 ideas are Planned for Future Release and 11 ideas are Future Consideration Status., and the establishment of groups on the IBM Ideas Portal. Abdullah also established an IBM Users Group - Ideas User Group – AI Driven Digital Transformation within the IBM TechXchange community.
5- Innovation and Excellence Centers, we recommended the IBM Center of Excellence model as the best solution in Iraq. We emphasized the need to develop a solution that provides a suitable platform for the exchange of scientific, industrial, administrative, financial, and investment expertise, as well as expertise in industrial operations management, industrial research and development, infrastructure management for industrial cities, and economic, investment, financial, and business management.
6- We recommended the multilevel cooperation between Iraqi Government with IBM Consultants about the practical strategies, planning, designs, development, advanced training, and establishing the Innovations and Excellence Centers. These Centers will use the Private Cloud, AI, Cyber security, IoT, Enterprise solutions, Edge Computing and Edge AI Solutions, from IBM, Intel, Nvidia, Microsoft, Cisco and their Partners.
7- We suggested to use the Innovation and Excellence Centers as Hubs for achieving the integration between Iraqi Public Sector, Iraqi Private sector with the International Companies, Investors, R&D Centers and Universities, after that , integrating the Iraqi supply chain with neighboring countries according to the Development Road, and then to the other countries around the world, which will put Iraq in the Heart of the global industrial and commercial system depending on the Iraqi Distinctive geographical location, Rich in Raw Materials, Oil and Gas, and other capabilities.
We already have new workshops, Panel Discussions and Symposium to help the decision makers for adopting the right solutions.
