Automation Exposé: Using IBM Workflow and Decision Management to Automate Title Insurance

 View Only
When:  Feb 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (ET)

The first episode of Automation Exposé  in 2023 debuts Thursday, February 16 at 11 AM ET with a recent story about one of Canada's largest title insurance companies using intelligent workflow and decision management to completely overhaul their processes.

Geoffrey Hamm, is a BPM Architect and Senior Account Executive for Salient Process, an IBM Business Partner that specializes in Business Automation.  In 2019, after years of technological investment and growth, the company was looking for a way to streamline many of the processes required to deliver a great customer experience. “Over the years, with many custom-built tech projects, their core business processes, had become more and more complex,” attests Hamm.  “There were older legacy systems that needed replacing and there were more recent elements that perhaps weren’t integrating as well as they could.  They needed to do an enterprise-wide evaluation.”

Hamm met with the team and went through an analysis, with IBM Blueworks Live as a modeling tool, to visualize the process and begin to rethink how it could automated with no preconceived notions.  They developed a plan to completely transform their process automation around all aspects of title insurance.

“It turned into a very large undertaking,” said Hamm. “People get scared when you're doing that kind of stuff. But the project grew until the company said ‘We're just going to rip all this stuff out and start from scratch and just build something that, based on all of our experience and expertise, should work much better.'”

Tune in to Automation Exposé  on Thursday to see how the title insurance company, working with Hamm and the project team, transformed their process with Workflow and Decision Management to modernize, streamline and automate. As always, we will allow plenty of time for Geoff to take your questions.
