  • 1.  Unable to Run a BOT from Control Center

    Posted Thu January 23, 2025 08:49 AM

    Hello Everyone,

    I hope you're doing well.

I have installed the IBM RPA Server on a Windows Server 2019 environment (on-premise setup). The server seems to be configured correctly, and I have created a computer and computer group. The necessary certificates are installed, and the computer shows as connected in the Control Center.

However, when I attempt to run a bot from the Control Center, I encounter the following error:

The bot '33ead657******************' could not start running. Failed to queue the bot in the computer group queue.*

I've double-checked the configuration, including the computer group and certificate setup, but I am still unable to resolve this issue.

If anyone has faced a similar issue or has insights on what could be causing this error, I would greatly appreciate your guidance

    Thanks,
    Chandru P

    Hi,
can you send AgentService.log and API log .
You can try to Reinstall IBM RPA Client.

First, try to install bot on same machine with RPA server, this can bypass firewall problem.
The most reason of "Failed to queue the bot in the computer group queue" is the client and server are not on same net. Reach IBm RPA Document (trouble shoot) you can get an information about pre-installation for scheduler.
    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/rpa/23.0?topic=ts-scheduling-orchestration-processes-do-not-work-when-using-msmq
The IBM RPA server and client are not installed on the same subnet.
For real work, just let server and client  can reach each other on MQ ports (open firewall).

    Hi!

I had the same issue while using Microsoft's queue provider (MSMQ). After restarting the machine, the service didn't start automatically. To fix this, you can use the following command in PowerShell:

    Restart-Service MSMQ

This command restarts the MSMQ service, restoring the queues without needing to reboot the system again.

Hope this helps! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Cheers!

    Hi Chandru,

The solution described below (restarting MQ) is probably your solution.

Based on my experience, MSMQ is not the most reliable. IBM provides an entitlement for IBM MQ as part of IBM RPA...which I feel is much better. I would suggest you consider configuring your environment with IBM MQ.

Let us know if you have additional questions and good luck with your RPA project!
